I DID THIS TO YEARS AGO I GOT THE KIT FROM POWROLL
THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE WIRING WERE'NT WROTH A DAM. THEY WILL TELL YOU TO USE THE 250X CARB, BUT I TRIED TO USE IT COULD'NT GET IT DIALED IN TRIED FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS, THEN I PUT THE 350X CARB ON
TO DO THIS YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE A PEICE
( I JUST WENT TO A MUFFLER SHOP ) TO FIT BETWEEN THE AIR BOX AND THE AIR BOOT TO FILL IN THE GAP
THIS IS A NICE SET UP ITS GREAT IN THE WOODS!!! ITS EASY TO THROW AROUND. THE JET I USED I THINK IT WAS A 158 AND IT RUN ALITTLE RICH
ALSO YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE MUFFLER MAKE SURE THE BOLTS ARE TIGHT CHECK THEM EVERY TIME YOU RIDE OR THE MUFFLER WILL FALL OUT.
AND ALSO PUT NEVER SEIZE ON THE BOLTS THAT HOLD YOUR END CAPS ON EVERY TIME YOU TAKE THEM OUT TO CHANGE DISC TO TUNE IT IN. I HOPE THIS HELPS
I WILL WATCH THIS POST TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE ?. IF I DONT RESPOND RIGHT AWAY IM WORKING SOME TIMES IM GONE FOR 2 DAYS AT A TIME LATER

I am right in the middle of this conversion. There are a couple of posts concerning this conversion. Just go back a few weeks. There is a ton of information on those posts. I am just waiting on my motor. I bought it a few weeks ago and the guy keeps telling me that he will get it out to me but he never calls back to tell me he sent it. ( I think I got screwed I hope not because I cannot afford to buy another motor). I am using a 250R suspension. Its wider and longer then the 250X. I have talked to powroll they say that the 250X carb works better than the 350X. I will try it when I get my motor and let you know. I didn't buy their kit I thought they were asking too much money. I have been told that you can take the DG 350X pipe and modify it to fit the bike. Powroll wants $450 for their pipe and that bolts right on. I bought the DG pipe for $155 from rocky mountain ATV. To do the DG Pipe you have to either add about 3" to the front by the engine so it will go around the frame tube. The other way to do it is to bend and weld to go behind the frame tube. If you have someone that can do this for you its a heck of a lot cheaper. I am having my dad rebend it and weld it for me. this is the better way because extending the pipe is supposed to give too much bottom end. If you don't have anyone to do this then buy the powroll pipe. The only modifications are to add spacers to the fornt motor mounts and do a little grinding and the left rear mount. You can email me at ttaylor@klune.com if you have any questions. I will be glad to help with what I can.

Thankx 4 all the info, I ordered my kit last week, it should be shipped out today, they had to make the exhaust. I figured It will be eaiser to spend the money to do it right. I dont have the time to try and make something work. I normally would look 4 the cheapest way out, but I dont want this bike all rigged up. it will be about a week until I get it, I will let you all know how it goes, thankx again. Ps, anyone know the top speed of this bike? Or even the top speed of a 350x trike, (The quad will be slower of course)

My '86 350x with an 18" tall tire and stock gears would only do about 55 mph before it was completely revved out in 6th. With just a change of sprockets I got it up to 65. You can get 75+ out of one by putting a 15 tooth front and 36 tooth rear on it and as long as it can pull the load, a taller tire would give even more top end.

Krabill, I just read an article in the ATV Sport Magazine June Issue. They are converting the 250X to a 350X in an article called the "Triple X". They had some good pictures of the areas that need to be modified and what was done. I just received my motor and exhaust system. I am working on it tonight and hope to have it all completed and riding by the end of the month. I will let you know how the modifications go.

ok, last night we started on the project. the instructions from powroll were somewhat vauge, like step 1, remove the old engine. step 2, etc.. But if you had any mechanical knowhow you would be fine. It does tell you the important stuff like how you have to cut the left side of the upper rear motor mount 1.78". there sould be 1 3/8" left of the mount. when you do the cut it is for 1 inch parrellel to the other side of the mount (1 inch down) and then cut at an angle towards the top case bolts. we had some little blue grinder cutter thing and did it perfect, in fact it was kind of easy. you also are told to grind off 1/16" of the bolt ant the head of the engine that has the oil line on it, this is to supposedly prevent it from hitting the frame, but mine wasent hitting anyhow. After that we put the 350 in, took a little working with but in the end it poped right in place like it was made to go there. by this time it was getting late (and we were slightly intoxicated) so we called it a night. tonight I am going to bolt her in and see if I cant finish it.
The Exhaust from Pawroll looks wicked, its 2 supertrap disk sets 1 on top the other in an oval casing
I'll keep ya posted, later
