I have a 88 honda 250R. I have taken out the key switch along with the wholerun/off lhts on/off switch. I bought a pro design kill switch and I was wondering if anyone knows how to hook it up. I am unsure if the hot wire on the switch connects into the key switch or the the run/off assembly on the handlebars. If someone could e-mail me, I would be very thankfull.

On my ATC250r I simply ran a wire from the stop/run switch wire (whichever goes to the coil)to the tether switch and then the other wire on the tether to ground. This will shut down the coil when you pull the tether cable off. To find what wire colors you are looking for just look in your Clymer manual, if you don't have one it is like the ATC/TRX 250r bible and no owner should be without one. The wiring schematics are in the back of the book.

Look at the wiring schematic and find the wire that grounds the coil when you shut it off by the off/run switch and tap one wire from the tether switch into it and ground the other wire from the tether switch.

Will this also work when installing a Pro-Design kill switch on my Polaris Sport 400?

I cannot find the coil since it is buried somewhere under the plastic and gas tank.

I can find the handlbar mounted "Off-Run" switch wires very easily. Are you saying all I need to do is put an Ohm Meter on these two wires and see which one goes to ground when it is in the "Off" position and then hook one end of my Pro-Design killswitch on it and the other to ground?
