Default TrailBoss 325 Jumping out of gear

I am haveing and issue with my wifes 2000 polaris trailboss 325 it is auto transmission every once in awhile pretty frequent though we will be rideing prettty the quad and all thwe suddon it just jumps out of gear and i cannot figure out y ut us jumping out of gear if u hit a bump to hard it jumps out can any one tell me what i can do to fix this. Thank you.

First thing you can do is check for any slack on the linkage rod ends plus make sure the transmission lever (belcrank) is tight and not stripped. You can loosen the small lock nuts on the linkage,while in neutral tun the linkage rod until the shifter is centered in the rubber shift slot. This should leave plenty of room for positive gear engagement. If it still slips out of gear,then its probably an internal trans problem. Shift fork wear,engagement dogs on the forward gear worn not allowing positive engagement,etc. OPT
