Default Belt for 2002 Trail Boss 325

Okay, another belt question. I was talking with someone the other day and they said, "That a belt from a Razor is a upgrade from stock belt on 2002 Trail Boss" Any one have more info and insight about this? If so what is the actual Part# to the belt that fits the Trail Boss from the Razor?

If not what belt is the best belt to buy?

For my 01 boss I just used a standard stock belt. It's not like these are any power houses that need a super strength belt. Even had the RCR stage 1 on mine. You could get a kevlar belt, but I've heard they harder on the sheaves. Just me, but it's a lot easier to replace a belt than half the clutch system.

Got mine on ebay, but you can check your local dealer and see what they are selling them for too.

Thanks, for the quick reply. I know to use eBay much cheaper than local dealer. I also know that these are no power houses but if its actually a better belt in all aspects, grip ect. I would like to know what belt it is and its part#. I would also like to hear from some people that are using this belt, and how they liked it. Or didn't and why.

Thanks for the stock belt#. Maybe Rick Ritter could help on this belt and part# I'm referring to as I believe he also sells them as a upgrade to stock belt.

My Trailblazer takes the same belt and I've been running one from an 800RZR. I like the belt a bit more than the stock one but the stock one was almost completely worn out by the time I got the machine so no real comparison. The 3211113 is the belt I've been using, but they all will smoke and you will have to replace them all eventually... The only thing about using this belt is that it will "creep" on you for a bit after it's been installed. I would recommend the stock belt for your machine though, it won't really "grab" any harder.... It may last longer but without clutching you won't notice any difference. unless your belt is worn that you're using now.

Ok, I have a white Polaris spring in my clutch. I have air box mods, jetted. I also have a exhaust on its way. My belt is a little worn out but no noticeable slipping yet. As I was told that it was the original belt and never has been changed. Even with these upgrades what would you recomend? razor or stock?

I don't think you'll gain much from going to the razor belt on your machine. Run what you have now and keep an eye on the wear(side to side), and if it seems to be wearing noticably quickly after the upgrades then I would say goto the rzr belt. Only because it's wider where it counts and the top cogs will help cool your clutching a bit more and make it last longer. There isn't much difference between the two size wise so I will put it like this, They will both work and if it was me purchasing, I would get the lower cost POLARIS belt. Wether it's the stock or the rzr belt wouldn't much matter to me after running both, it would be cost. Like I said they will ALL burn up at some point...

Thanks, after a lot of searching I also found the two belts are exact same dimensions.40.875x1.188. With the razor belt actually being slightly heavier @1.1pounds verses .971. I had to cross reference to dayco belts to get this info though. So stock trail boss verse stock razor I don't know but can't image they are that dayco belts are much different. I think the rule of lighter belt may actually be better in the long run. Maybe 1-2mph.LOL

If you go back through and look it up (I can't remember for sure) either EPI, Highlifter, or Polaris' website they are actually a little different in size. I think the stock belt is 41" x 1 5/32" and the rzr belt is 40 7/8" x either 1 3/16" or 1 1/4". It's an 1/8" shorter and either 1/32" or 3/32" wider. It does hold better than my stock belt, but again it was completely worn out. If you're worried about rotational mass call RR and he's got a few ways to help you out in that department
