I replaced a solenoid on a Polaris Xpress 300. I connected the wire from the solenoid to it's correct spot. I connected the positive cable to the battery, when I connect the negative cable to the battery the 4-wheeler tries to start. Key is in off position, run switch is off. I even connected the old solenoid switch and it does the same thing. What am I missing? Why does it try to start?

 

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're getting power to the solenoid from a shorted out ignition switch. I've had several ignition switches do this. OPT
