How to tell if springs are bad
I have a 94 400l 4x4 with a saggy front end problem. I put in 1 1/2" spacers and it helped but the struts are hitting on the top of the stroke. After this happened I am planning on replacing the struts and see if that will correct my front end issue. The struts I can push them in pretty easyily and they come back about about 1/2 way .
Now to my question: How do I know if I need to change the spring also?
cost is 131.90 for just struts or spings/struts together are 233.90 from Snowmobile Parts, Accessories, Clothing | Hi-Performance Engineering
Thanks

First off you'll get much better strut cartridges with the updated capped off # 7041451 cartridge that replaces the old ones(# 7041304) that it has now. These were bad about leaking oil after only a couple years on some atvs. Try the new strut cartridges first and see if the front end is stiff enough for you. You can always add the spacers or new springs if it isn't OPT
