Default Carb fuel lines

I just purchased a 1990 trail boss 250 2 wheel drive. I had the fuel lines in the carb go and dont exactly know where lines need to go. A line on the right side and one on the bottom. I believe they were connected with a tee in there some where but I lost the tee pushing my quad home can any one shed some light on this for me I have new line. I'm a rookie at this but want to learn. Pics or diagrams would help greatly. Thanks

Welcome! Don't worry about the "T" as it usually vibrates off after time any way. The only lines you need are a line at the bottom of the carb extending below the bash plate for the carb over flow and ALL other separate vents at the top can just be run up along the throttle /choke cable and zip tied under the tank area. I had to do this a lot. OPT

So then the is just to connect the top vent and bottom drain. I mistakenly connected the 2 together probably flooding things. How do I fix the flooding problem.

Don't hook these lines together as you've found out! Just route the vent line upwards and the over flow past the bash plate to keep any fuel off the engine and gear case. If the carb is still leaking it possibly needs a new needle valve (needle and seat) Look here on your model as to the parts breakdown on a carb. Browse

So I got the lines good it's just the engines flooded. I can see fuel coming out the exhaust. How do I drain it out. Thanks for your guidance by the way

Try this first. Ignition OFF and plug removed and hold throttle wide open.Use the recoil start. This will help to clear the crank case full of fuel, may actually spray gas out the spark plug hole! The 10 mm crank drain plug is hard to see,but you can get access through the bash plate to it if necessary. Also if the exhaust is really full of gas the muffler may need to be dropped and drained. All just depends on how much gas. OPT

After all is said and done the drain is still pouring gas so I assume the carb needs cleaning.

You either need #3130360 needle valve OR cheaper just to get a complete carb kit on Ebay, etc for the 250. Moose kits are good kits also.CARB KIT,TRAIL BOSS 89-99 | Products | Moose Utility Division OPT

Hey OPT I have removed and disassembled the carb but cannot either find or remove one part. Number 8 in the manual break down. I don't believe I lost it I believe it's called the needle jet. It's a longer piece. But I'm not sure can you shed some light on this for me
