Default polaris scrambler jug

I have a 2000 400 scrambler. The jug was cracked so I bought one from ebay that was bored with new piston, rings, and bearings. But once it arrived the angle on the intake was different and the intake boot angle is off. The jug was ordered by the seller for a 2002. Is there a different angle intake boot I could buy?

I've run into that before also! Quite possible the cylinder is from a 95 model or older as the carb adapter is different and cylinder has a different part number on the older Scrambler and also the Sport 400! They do have a more downward angle because of different air boxes.Possible also they could have slipped in a 350 cylinder? From 1996 on up past 2002 models the carb adapter has the same part number! You can use the adapter that came with your cylinder or order a new one if damaged. The newer carb adapter #is 3085277. The older ones were#3084143 and #3085038 and I wouldn't know where to begin to know what you have? Look on the side of the cylinder and make sure it says 379 cc's for the 400 and not 352 cc's that I believe is a 350 cylinder! This is the only thing bad about buying from Ebay. OPT

I've looked online at the 95 model intake boots, the angle looks the same. Which puts my carb. At a angle toward the motor.

If you have a 2000 Scrambler 400 it takes a # 3085277 adapter. Look here on you model under "crank case and cylinder" will show the adapter, then drop down to a 95 model and shows a different number! Browse

Okay I just figured out by searching ebay the jug I have purchased appears to have came from a explorer around a 97 model. That's what my jug intake angle looks like. Any ideas?

The 1997 Explorer 400 shows to have the same cylinder # as your 2000 model Scrambler(It does supercede to the later model cylinder # on replacement cylinders) BUT still shows the same #3085277 carb adapter that your 2000 Scrambler should have.Think you may have a 1995 Sport 400 cylinder as the carb adapter is #3084143. Just guessing, but this could be the case. Doesn't really matter as to age of cylinder as long as it's still in good shape and you can just order the correct carb adapter if needed.. PS make sure you look at the bottom of the cylinder as to the cc's listed! OPT
