Welcome! The older models had magneto triggered ignitions and would start with a dead battery. The battery is mainly for the electric starter, fan and lights. It's kept charged by the regulator/rectifier. A dead battery(dead cell or dried up from reg/rectifier not charging) can pop bulbs especially when the engine is revved. The current from the regulator/rectifier has to go somewhere and if the battery wont take it, the current seeks the path of least resistance which is the bulbs. The main 20 amp circuit breaker is in a sealed pouch forward of the battery tucked in the rear fender area. You can slice this pouch and check for corrosion, bad leads, etc and if bad can find at most auto stores cheap(about $6). The trick to the old red button safety shifter is to swing the shifter out while holding the button in and then drop in gear before releasing the button. Make sure there is pressure on the button after in gear or the gears will grind. You can also lube this cable up that goes from the shifter to the transmission.Look here on the 93 model 350 under "shift linkage" Browse

Default Help help help!!!!

I have a 1993 polaris trail boss 350. I am having a few problems. One on the main fuse I replaced it with a inline fuse. As soon as I turn the ignition key it blows the fuse. What could this be? Also I can't get the battery to charge I replace the voltage regulator and the stator test good at 120 ohms. So I need help getting that fixed. Also when driving it if I push the accelerater in all the way it kind of bogs and loses power but at any other throttle position it's fine. What could it be?
