2001 polaris scrambler 90
#1
I just bought this for my son and when it's cold the carb is over flowing with fuel. It takes a while to get it started ,but runs good after initial start. The genleman I bought it from was going through the carb the day I bought it . He said he was just cleaning it up ,but now I know why he was in there. Trying to fix the problem. Any ideas bad carb, electric choke bad , not sure.

Sounds like you need to replace the float needle and clean the carb up. After you get the carb correct the easiest way to start these little ones is to block the air box inlet with your thumb. Allows quicker cold starts and once it cranks up and warmed up,restarts are easy. This the nature of these machines whether they had electric chokes or manual chokes.Look here on your model at the carb parts. Cheapest place to get oem parts is usually Cycle Parts Warehouse. Browse Item #14 PLUS there are cheap complete carbs on Ebay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-90-S...7346_W0QQfviZ1

Recheck my post, sometimes I'm slow to edit my posts to show other options like the complete carb for what a dealer would charge you on the needle itself! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-90-S...7346_W0QQfviZ1
