Cases can be cleaned up. The dealer or machine shop can clean up the crank shaft and install the rod. Just call around for prices OR you can send it to Ritter Cycle Racing - FAST, NOT FICTION. or numerous online sites if you don't have anyone local.I have had cranks rusted solid, cases in just as bad condition, but was able to get em running. If you don't have a manual get one! Doesn't matter what year model on the 250 manual as the internal mechanics are the same. OPT

crank and crankcase arent as bad as thought, has gas full in crankcase, but crank has very little rust in a few areas imma make it work as is with a carb rebuild and a topend

If rod has ANY up and down play on the crank(side to side is ok) the engine wont last with just a top end! Also make sure you roll the rod around and if any bearings feel rough they need to be replaced. Just trying to save you some $$ if the rod or crank bearings go out. They can take a new top end out with it! OPT
