I have a 2001 Polaris magnum 325 4x4 it starts up and will not stay running with out giving it gas (wont idle). Although if I turn the idle screw up (idle high) its fine. if the idle screw is set where it should be and im riding around and slow down to stop it shuts off. what could this be? Thanks for your help.

 

Make sure the throttle lever doesn't have too much slack or it will die when you come to an idle and let off the lever.The throttle housing has etc contacts and if they touch it kills the spark. Throttle lever has to have a maximum of 1/8" slack. Just look down the cable and pull back the rubber sleeve exposing the cable adjuster. Loosen the lock nut,turn the cable adjuster in or out until you only have 1/8" slack at the thumb lever,then tighten the lock nut. If this doesn't solve the problem,then you may need to clean the carb.
