Default Update on 1996 Sportsman 500 (Hey OPT :P)

Hey guys and OPT,

I have posted alot, but haven't been posting recently.

I recently just got my piston un-seized.

It runs WITH OIL in it now! Good thing!

Now for the bad news.. :/

It has a ticking noise. (Maybe the valves?)

In the beginning of the exhaust, it smokes alot. I'm thinking either the gasket's bad or there's a crack between the Anti-Freeze and engine.

What should i do?

I don't want to take this to Polaris as they will charge me alot... and told me it had a knocking noise in it! It DEFINITELY doesn't have a knocking noise in it, dumbasses.

BIG difference between the Knocking noise and ticking noise, i tell you.

If the valves are set correct,.006 intake and exhaust and the piston did seize up,I'd bet it's still the piston making the noise.Any time something seizes some damage has happened. Smoking could be oil bypassing the rings into the combustion chamber.I'd check this out before it gets worse.

I will take the engine back out (Again) and tear it down carefully with my manual.

I will check bearings, gasket seals, valve sets, size of bore, etc. So i don't have to take the engine back out AGAIN!

Is it really tough to put an engine back together?
