Manual is the best, but plenty of videos on youtube that can help. Whether it's the inner or outer boot, you have to drop the a-arm,brake caliper, tie rod and pull the strut out enough to wiggle the shaft out. If it's the inner boot, either remove the clevis pin on the older models or just jerk on the shaft on the newer ones to remove the shaft from the differential. If it's the outer boot(by the hub) just unsnap the bands, push the boot back, use a brass or dead blow hammer to knock the cv joint off the shaft. It's held in place by a circlip. Then you can clean up/grease the cv,slip the new boot on,grease it,replace the clamps and re insert the shaft in the strut.

Main thing to have if you do your own boots is the right cv band pliers. Less fighting the clamps and makes the job a snap. We kept a good supply of bands for people that tried to use needle nose pliers, etc and kept destroying them. Good tool to keep in your tool box.Available at any auto supply.
