Ok Boss Man, I have another question if you have time...... Do you know the threads and size of the drain plug that is on the gear case that the shift linkage goes into? Can I buy something at the hardware/auto parts store? Is the pivot bushing necessary or will a gasket work to seal it up? And can you recommend an over the counter oil to put in that same gear case(the one with the yellow dipstick), maybe even a heavier weight?

Thats like 4 questions.....

Takes a torque stop style bolt for the drain plug that uses an internal bolt and lock nut that screwed into it.This is a screwy set up,but keeps the gear case from flexing and installs first by screwing the small bolt into the drain plug to get enough room to install the drain plug. Once the drain plug is tightened, back out on the internal bolt until it hits the lower frame, then tighten the lock nut. Here's just the main plug.http://www.ebay.com/itm/PURE-POLARIS-PLUG-TORQUE-STOP-P-N-3233687-/180471123212?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a04eacd0c&vxp=mtr Yes the pivot bushing is needed,#36. #35 is the drain plug(bolt and lock nut listed on gear case mounting) These you can find at any hard ware store. http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...2001&fveh=5541 Around 100 ccs of 30 wt oil was what was called for in the counter balancer cavity, but 5w30,10w30,etc are ok to use.

Sounds about right. Thats what I get for thinking its would be just a drain plug! Is it ok to use the same 10w30 in the gear box like in the counter balance gears?

Best to use Polaris agl or equivalent oil suitable for chain driven gear cases.
