Well I am back where I started again. Not starting and exhaust and case filling with fuel.

I am thinking it might be the stator. I checked for spark and it doesn't appear to be all that strong. This leads me to believe that this is why it is not firing.

My compression is still approx. 120

I have checked manual to test resistance but can only find the numbers for the charging coil. I cannot find anything on testing the exiter coil.

Does anyone have the correct resistance for testing this?

Thanks

Black/Red to Brown/White should ohm out around 120 ohms (+/- 20%) Don't forget to check the coil tab to ground(.3) ohms, plus the secondary, coil wire to tab 6.3k ohms. Plug cap around 4.8k ohms or so(5k ohm cap) Plus any breaks in the plug wire itself.

Doesn't sound like the stator. Coil tab to ground past limit, plus test should be bare coil wire to coil tab(6.3k) Either way sounds like the ignition coil is weak. Plus make sure you check the plug cap. Many people over look it as a problem. No test on the cdi,so if you want to change the coil out first and see what you have. Plus in a weak spark condition,a dirty flywheel or stator itself can cause this. Plenty of cheap 10 buck coils around if you want to try this first.http://www.ebay.com/itm/IGNITION-COIL-POLARIS-TRAIL-BOSS-250-ATV-QUAD-88-90-91-92-93-94-95-96-97-98-99-/190798124421?hash=item2c6c745585&vxp=mtr

Boy do I feel like a dope. Yes I overlooked the plug cap. It was loose.

Tightened it up and now everything is within spec. Fired up

Sitting now to see if it will start back up in a few hours
