Okay yes completely clears this up 100 percent I will change out the regulator anyways but when I get home I will test the yellow ones to the frame. I feel like a blonde now lol thanks for ur time.

Hi opt, I got the new regulator in and at idle it is 12.5 and when I Rev it up goes up to 14.2 volts, was not getting that before! Also I had the battery tested and it tested okay. Thanks for ur help! Happy belated turkey day!

i am having a problem with my polaris sportsman 500, battery is draining while plowing,battery is new. the headlights pretty shut right off the winch wont lift anymore.i take it for a run around the block and it still doesn't seem to charge enough to lift or lower the winch. oh yeah and the stator is new can any one help

What year model? While running regulator/ecm must be charging back to the battery. Should be around 14 volts or so.If it isn't then it could be faulty and need to be replaced. Plus if battery is in question have it load tested. This is the first thing you need to check/eliminate on an electrical problem.

thanks for the reply old polaris tech my bikes a 1998 and the battery is fairly new, i did figure out the problem it was a short in my cooling fan which was draining my battery all fixed thanks again
