Hi, we're trying to sort a replacement head gasket set for a 700 sportsman. Thing is, it falls close to a superseded date.

The bike is an early 2004.

The head gasket could be 5812193 or 5247359

Can anyone make sense of the chassis number?

From my experience with all Polaris updated parts,either one will work as most updated parts such as gaskets and small parts like this the updated number may just have a larger,different coolant cutout or gasket thickness may vary. Think the major change was because of the efi introduced this same year. It used the 5247359 gasket. You can use the vin decoder to narrow down which machine you have. Whether it's the AC or AK model that has the changeover dates of manufacturer for the head gasket.
