Hey OPT!

The rebuild is complete, overhauled he motor, flushed the transmission, rewired a few lights, bondoed/painted and resecured plastics!
I've been riding the quad lightly around the backyard, letting it idling out alot and such.

Yesterday, I took it out on the road and encountered some issues. I road it for about 15 minutes, shifting - PRNDL all functioned normally. Then all of a sudden, the quad turned off and I couldn't start it up again. Initially I was choking it by placing my hand over the air box and this indeed would let it fire over. so I... Checked
Spark-Good
Compression -125psi
and fuel---

I noticed when I sprayed fuel down the airbox she'd fire up idle a little and then turn off unless I nursed the throttle. I don't understand why this would happen all of a sudden. My choking method would not work any further either!

Did the motor wear in and could the carburetor need more adjustment? I played with the mixture and idle and didn't receive a difference. The only adjustment left would be the float...

I checked for air leaks by spraying starter fluid around and found at the intake boot (which is brand new) a slight blip in throttle but nothing major and I tightened this area up.
sprayed other areas including: Cylinder head, Cylinder base, Crank seals and carb areas and didnt find any issues here.

I believe it to be a fuel issue but am unsure... It is a big downer at this point in the game. Quad has been very quirky from the get-go and am considering selling it if I cant sort through this last problem. Any thoughts?

First tank premixed? If it was possible some trash in the carb jets. Just check from the spark plug on down. Something as simple as a partially fouled plug can cause problems like this.Just eliminate one thing at a time.

Ok checked carb. was spotless.
Checked plug was tan and a good looking color. replaced.
Drained gas, started fresh.

Runs really high on choke, When ya turn off choke it come down idles for 20 seconds then wants to die unless you bump the throttle or cover the airbox for a few... then runs for 20 secs and repeats. Idle screw seems to not EFFECT the idle at all..... just steadily idles at around 1000rpm-1500rpm

Seems like air leak. what do you think. Is this even possible? I replaced... all seals and gaskets... UGH

Rather than pull your hair out do a real leak down test.
