Default Old scrambler wont start again....

1998 scrambler 400 4x4 intermitting starting problem.....runs fine then wont start. Remove red plastic hood and push down on the birds nest of wires and it fires right up...now the "wire push down" method doesn't work anymore (LOL) so I guess its time to fix it for real...any help/ideas would be much appreciated

Can't add much more to that than the most common areas for shorts were from the left control switch wiring and ignition switch. Just a slow process if it's a short.

Unplug each wire to see if the connectors are tight.

Beat me to it jumbofrank.. Happened to think about the terminal board after I posted. Corroded terminals on the boaard could be the problem rather than a direct short.

Thanks for the insight it is appreciated.......is there a way to clean the circuit board before hand. Can it be washed with water or is that a bad idea.

When I bought some it was expensive but it's worth it. You can spray it in switches too.
