Default 2003 2 stroke Polaris Trailblazer quad a good solid quad? Worth $1800?

Hi my name is Brianna and am looking to buy my first quad. Someone I know has a 2003 250 Trailblazer 2 stroke for sale. It has a fresh engine rebuild from a Polaris dealership. He's asking $1800. I'm new to quads and would like to know if it's a good solid reliable quad and if the asking price sounds fair? Any advice on the quad would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

BriannaM most of the same people that have already posted earlier on "Buying an Atv" would say the same thing again.. This would just probably confuse you more going from one section to another.

I was never a big sport quad fan so I really never looked at any of those when I bought one for riding. I picked up my first one just a little bit ago and I am very happy with it. Mines a 2002 and much like yours, it had a newly rebuilt engine and was pretty nice looking. Now mind you, I paid a lot less than what yours is listed for, but I seem to have these deals fall into my lap when I'm least expecting them to. The fair market I have seen on these machines run any where's from $1000 to $2000 depending on condition. I would say $1800 isn't too bad and you may get them to budge a little with cash. I bought mine for my teenage daughter's and it's a fun little quad to run around on. I opted to let the guy keep the aftermarket pipe he had for it and left the exhaust stock because this dad spent too many years around loud farm equipment and spent my life wrenching on cars so the loud buzzing is not up my alley, lol.

Good luck,
Mike

I bought a 2006 for 1300.I am not big on 2 strokes. But it ran great I liked it but I wanted a 4x4 so the same guy had a 2004 Scrambler 500 so I bought that from him too for 2k. If you are just looking for something to tool around on and you wont be in any mud the 250 will be great.

I had a Trailblazer and it was a lot of fun but not enough horsepower. I got bad gas mileage from getting on the throttle so hard so much of the time. Other than that it was a good quad for the year or 2 that I had it.

Again he's asking top dollar even if the engine has been rebuilt on this entry level machine. Kbb has what a dealer would sell it for in perfect condition($1100),Nada is even less generous at $900.
