Default 1996 425 magnum 4x4- cooling fan

So my cooling fan doesn't seem to want to kick on anymore. it used to start up if you idle after a run ... now, nothing. The battery is going dead and we pull start it, but the battery will stay charged for about a day. even while its running though, the fan wont kick on.

There's also some weird plastic hose from the fan motor to the speedometer. I would guess vacuum, but its clear plastic. No idea on that one.

Some folks say the ignition switch can get worn and not contact, therefore not switch the fan on.

I cant find a fuse block anymore either, as I was going to check fuse.

Any advice ?

Charge and load test the battery first. If it fails a load test a new one may solve most of your problems. Check that the regulator is charging at least 14 volts to the battery above an idle. The hose from these old fan motors was a vent hose. Replacement fan motors capped this off as moisture could get in and cause problems. With a good battery you can test the fan to see if it's running ok. The fan sensor is at the top of the radiator. Slide the two spade connectors back a bit and with the key on use needle nose pliers to jump both sensor lugs. Fan should kick on. If it doesn't the fan may need to be replaced. The sensors were bad on getting hot, shorting out,not allowing the fan to kick on if coolant level got below them also. You can match up the sensor at most auto supply houses if needed, but sort out the battery first. There is a 20 circuit breaker in a plastic pouch located up from the battery that can short out also.If you have power to the starter and lights it's still ok.
