I own a 2001 xpedition 325 that needs a shift drum and found a few used drums for a 425 my question is will then work in the 325

 

Look the same but show different part numbers.Couldn't say yes or no on this. Drum is listed listed under clutch. Not unless you held them side by side and also examined the shift fork groove pattern against each other. I would like to say it would work,but can't. Even the stripped down drum and not the assembly have different part numbers on each one.
