My sons 90 spark plug wire needed replacement (cracked at plug and would vibrate loose), so i picked up a new "performance" CDI box as well. We are doing more Hurricane IRMA clean up tomorrow and he wants to help with his bike, so i ordered the parts from Amazon since it was prime and i dont want to disappoint(i know, I know). The cdi box is a HOOAI? When i installed it, there are no wires from the CDI to match the blue, and the gray wires on the bike. Tried cranking and no spark. Aside from ordering parts off amazon, what did i screw up?

 

Try the old cdi.If no spark,pull the black wire on the cdi. If that doesn't help,the problem could be the stator itself. We had more problems with them than anything else.The cheap 5 buck manual has the stator tests among other tests on trouble shooting the ignition. Figured it out. If i hooked up the black/white wire on new cdi nada. Unhooked and ran good but couldt shut it off. Put the old cdi back on and problem solved, only ordered both cdi and coil pack just in case. Kid is happy and loading it on the trailer. Thanks for the replies. Sorry about the other post.
