Default 2007 Sportsman X2 800

Hi , new to the forum world but in definite need of help. I recently purchased a used 2007 Sportsman X2 800 and everything seems to run great. It does need some tlc cosmetically. It currently has 3400km and 244 hours. The clutch had recently been changed to a cvtech trailblock by the previous owner and it has a dayco hpx 2204 belt on it. My issue is , when I have the quad in high gear , at about 2700 rpm and above I get a high pitched whine . I’ve taken so much of the clutch system apart and have narrowed it down to what I believe to be rubbing gears in the gear box/tranny. It only happens in high range. I drained the tranny fluid and found it to be milky brown so there’s been water in it . Should I be looking for burnt up bearings , worn shims? What else could cause gears to “whizz” or “whurrr” in high gear ? I definitely can’t afford a new tranny so I hoping to salvage this one myself.
