Hmmmm.... Gave that number off the plate below the model sticker (X2297078X) to our local dealer who said its a 1994 machine... should there be another number somewhere Frank?
Anyway, need a voltage regulator/rectifier for it & apparently its obsolete. Part No 4060113 I believe. Going to ring around the local motorcycle breakers & see what they have. Otherwise it China here we come!

The VIN is always stamped into the frame itself where it can't be removed, not attached to it in any way. I don't know what the number on that plate is, but the model number says 94. I found a regulator/rectifier for it, Arrowhead APO6005. They're based in Minnesota and ship overnight anywhere in the U.S. That doesn't help you, but you can see if they ship overseas. Replacement Commercial Parts Warehouse in Ohio sells them and you could contact them too. I found a Tasharina Corp. regulator/rectifier online at Walmart in Canada, but they seem to be a complete POS, and that's still not doing you any good.

Alrightee! Had a hunt round & found an old regulator in a box of bits. put it on, nothing to loose & see what happens. New battery, hit the button & off she went with a nice 14v at the battery. Disconected the reverse limiter & all good. no pops & bangs!
Thanks all,
Got a Ranger coming in soon with front axle issues....will get a vid of it & stick it on here...try not to laugh to much when you see it!
