What year is your 700?
There are two wires coming from the front differential that connects to the AWD coil. To get to the two pin connector easily, remove the front plastic access panel that is under the front rack. The grey wire should be battery positive when the AWD switch is on. The brown/white is the ground which is supplied by the speedometer.
If there is no ground present then you can bypass the speedometer by connecting the brown/white wire directly to chassis ground.
Battery positive goes thru the ignition switch, then to the AWD switch, then to the grey wire.
If there is battery positive and ground to the wires then you will need to check resistance on the wires. Grey to brown/white resistance should be close to 24 ohms.
