Default Speedo and AWD Not Working 2003 Sportsman 700

I'm sure this has been asked before but it seems like every situation is different.

Problems
Speedo does not work properly, it does not show mph and the odometer and hour meter does not work either. It does show everything else like gear indicator, temp, oil, etc.,
AWD does not work. If the AWD light is located on the switch on the throttle then it is not working because it is not illuminated.

Possible Solutions
Do I need a new speedo ?
Do I need a new hall effect sensor ?
Do I need a new bulb in the AWD switch ? Is it accessible ? Do I need a new AWD switch ?
Will grounding the brown/white wire from the 6 pin connector bypass this issue ? Not really into spending $300 for new speedo

Any help greatly appreciated

Default Problem Solved

I did the brown/white wire to ground and it seems to have fixed the problem. The AWD indicator now comes on when I put the switch in the ON position.
