Default 2007 polaris gear selector

Hello all,

Sorry to hear OPT passed away! Been awhile since I have been on. I have a 2007 Polaris sportsman 500. It never like to read park. It had been getting worse and i cleaned the resistor module which fixed it for a little bit. Eventually it started acting up again. I couldn't get it to read consistently. I checked ohms and they were incorrect. I paid 113.99 and bought the new resistor module that is a sealed unit. I just spliced that in and got the same results. Doesnt want to read park, I noticed though that when I played with the wires where they went into the harness I could get park. As I was cutting the tape and conduit back I cut the brown wire that goes from the transmission switch to the speedo. I spliced that back together and now I have absolutely nothing. Any ideas?

Okay i figured it out. Fyi for others. My book says white wire coming out of resistor goes to speedometer. That wire was fine. The wire I cut by accident goes from transmission switch to speedometer. I see it goes to pin 14 but I couldn't get continuity, I looked in my book and it says that brown wi
wire goes to a splice then to ground and I had no ground on the brown wire so I ran a pigtail off of it to ground and it bam I have gear indicator. Probably never needed the 113.99 dollar resistor. Just glad I found it
