Is anybody running the Holeshot ATRs?

Not 100% sure they were mudlites, I was reading it upside down [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] but sure was surpised at the size. It really raised the rig up. Wish I knew more, but I think I'm about to learn.
So I have to ask...why the handle Blackballed? To many comments that hit home?

I started out back in '99 with a Sportsman and some crazy ideas about actually getting involved in the sport that I soon grew to love. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Being a glutton for punishment; I tried to make the trip across the state several more times to push for some kind of mission statement that would define this new club's goals or even a discussion that went beyond the more important quest for new t-shirts and bumper stickers...to no avail (their first attempt at coming up with their 'own' political plan came years later when they attempted to become a subchapter of our iron-fisted state motorcycle club...which pretty much explains the 'we just want to ride' attitude that I received before quitting these people yet again).
I've joined more organizations all over this country that I can count; sponsored youth training programs; attended state orv advisory board meetings and have found one truth to be self-evident:
You don't point out the obvious in the American off-road community and you sure as heck don't question ANY leader running it....as they obviously all go to the same conventions and all cover each other's ***** no matter how ridiculous the matter may be.
This community, over several decades, has just plain scared off the true professionals or (worse yet) the just plain 'ol good folk that were willing to get involved in this sport a long time ago. These massive closures are a result of this... there are absolutely no young people waiting in the wings to take these old arrogant coot's positions of power...and everything that's happened to us?...we've sure as heck done to ourselves for simply a lack of individuals posessing the stones to speak out about it.

It is a great explanation, but a sad state of affairs.
I'm involved in a very large motorhome group and I find that people can not see the big picture. We just had a 900,000 buget loss and the only thing they wanted to complain about was a $2. pin and a $15. dinner that got taken away. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

It's as if there is no real 'basis' ever formed when these people come together; or it's soon forgotten. As in your sport (especially); these people aren't hurting for cash or not desirous of or posesssing the skills to make any...they're on average half-way intelligent enthusiasts who posess the capability to not only build useful legacies...but help those even outside the sport along the way! (IMO, the number of charity tie-ins per event that we've witnessed around here has even been frankly shameful for years).
Sorry to get off topic, all...and to get back on...I'm getting less and less impressed with these 26" Holeshots on the Rzr as we run them (which is why I can't see the 26" more agressive tread models performing much better when compared to stock).

yea we did get off topic a wee bit.
So it seem polaris may have truely did some research and matched the tires to the machine.......Wow what a concept. lol
I will just run the stocks for now and see what comes up

You also and I wouldn't say that the Holehots are not fun to drive; just that they seemingly hookup great for a few seconds in whatever terrain that they work best in ...then immediately feel almost overpowered and even 'pushy' elsewhere in the powerband. I should lower the pressure right down to wherever the race guys run them; yet I'm not comfortable enough with them in the corners using standard pressures at this time.

I was talking to a guy who recommended the Maxxis Bighorn's. Any experiance with these.
There are some pic's on another forum of a greenie with SS108 wheels and 26" bighorns.
I must say that ol' green did not look to bad with black wheels.
Oh I was also told I will need to extend the tires out some, I will lose the 50" width doing this. Not sure at this time if that is a biggy for me.
I was talking to a guy who recommended the Maxxis Bighorn's. Any experiance with these.

I put a set on my Rhino when the 26" size first came out and they're really hard to beat. Most anyone will say that they wear well; are very stable (wide/flat pattern) and are just a great all around tire. You may or may not be familiar with him; but Mike Penland won his 10th GNCC Utility Stock Championship running BigHorns and you see them on UTV desert racers all the time (usually with tire ***** http://www.tireballs.com/ ).

I don't know what the width rules are where you plan to ride (sounds like 'all over' when the day comes!) [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]...yet if you're going to match a set of wheels with these; I'd contact Matt @ AtvOutfitters, as it seems that he has been asked every question known to man regarding wheel offsets on the Rzr.
One other tip...carry a good tire repair kit http://www.powertank.com/produ...stPage/2/productID/186 a decent inflator (or two cheap ones) and a good size bottle or two of some kind of tire sealant. What I found after recently picking up a pretty nasty 3/4" gash; is that you can go a long ways on sealant alone....just don't stop and go like heck to keep centrifugal force working for you. (you're going to lose a lot sealant int the process; yet you can't lose what you don't have on board).
As mentioned earlier; it's really hard to find someone unhappy with the BigHorns. You will definitely feel the difference over stock in this flatter tread pattern; although not to the point where you won't quickly become accustomed to it and most likely enjoy same for (IMO) pure stability alone.

The kit was a good idea also. While at the powertank site I found an writeup on using N2 in your tires. Well that just saved me about $100 on my RV. Thanks for that one....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] ....I would recommend to everyone to read this before spending the time or money to change out to N2
