I just got a new RZR, when i get to around 60 mph it feels like a governer kicks in. Does anyone elses feel this way.

What is max speed? Is there a chip or somethin in these? Or a break in period then something burns out?

 

There is a spacer in the primary clutch to limit how much the clutch will close on the belt. There is a video somewhere on this forum that tells you how to take it out. With it out you'll find more top speed.

You are probably hitting the rev limitor at 60 mph that will give the feeling of a governer. removing the clutch spacer & having your ECM reprogramed will give you more speed.

 

I watched the video and it looked like a pretty easy job.

BUT, is there anyone out here that has had their spacer out for any length of time?? From the video, it doesn't look like it should cause any long term damage. It just mearly allows it to spool out a bit further.

 

The RZR has the same set up as the Sportsman 800 & it does not have this spacer & it has been out for 3 years so that is pretty long term.
