Looking to buy a new RZR
#1
I am in the market to buy a side by side, and I have looked at the Rhino 700 (08) and the Polaris RZR. I have been on motorcycles for 35 years, but I have no experience in this area. any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated

I believe if Fun factor is what your after, then there is no doubt the Rzr would be the better choice. I will say this though, Even though Polaris promotes this thing by power sliding and jumping for the adrenaline junkies, it is a 1000lb machine. I don't think it is built to be continually driven in that fashion without experiencing issues. There are aftermarket companies that are addressing these.
I just read that Rzr's finished 1,2,3 at the Parker offroad race. I believe that is a good indication of how well these perform. I think there have only been a couple they haven't won since there debut.
I have a Rzr, and love it. So I am probably somewhat biased. I don't have enough ride time to compare with the Rhino as far as durability, but as far as seat of the pants, I am extremely happy.

It will depend on what you are looking for.
The Bed on the RZR is smaller.......so you wont be able to haul as much. if that is what you plan on doing with it.
BUT, if you enjoy the Dunes or higher speed riding then the RZR is the way to go.
The Rhino I'm sure would be fun, but I didn't want to have to spend a lot of money modifying it for Dune riding. I'm not sure how the new 700 version will do, but I have yet to see a Rhino climb Test Hill at Silver Lake.
My RZR has all the performance that I need right out of the box.
I have added bumpers and winch, but other that that it came ready to go!

If you have been riding for along time on ATV's and dirtbike's RZR is the only way to go it is just flat out faster. Also rear end kicks around like a fast quad when you gun it. Whole lot of fun if your under 6 foot tall otherwise you might have a issue with seeing the trail when you put a roof on it. One last thing crank up the stock springs will save you quite of bit of rock grief.
