You probably have busted motor mounts which eats belts due to the motor twisting. Polaris had a run of both bad mounts and belts, and has redesigned the motor mounts. New mount part# is 3021936. (Unless they changed it for 08) Any machine made BEFORE 03/06/07 could be affected. Have your dealer contact Polaris, (Or you can call Customer Care), with your VIN number and build date-located on sticker under the hood-to see if you are included in the recall.
They should cover replacing ALL motor mounts as well as belt replacement. Make sure the dealer completely removes the mounts for inspection, you can't tell its broken by 'eyeballing' them.
As for chiseling $200.00 out of the dealer for the belts you've already paid for, well, good luck with that.
