Default Motor Oil On the Drive Belt

My Ranger is in the shop. The dealer called and said due to an oversight on Polaris' behalf oil is leaking from the crankcase into where the clutch and drive belt is and getting in the belt. Anybody ever hear of that? It's all under warranty....whew!

Thanks for the reply. My Ranger is still in the shop and it has been a month. They say they are waiting on a part. They don't know it but I'm about to put my lawyer on them. They can't keep my machine and my money, too.

Have had to replace crank seal behind drive clutch on one machine only. soaked up clutches and belt! WE have sold a lot of Polaris atv's and Rangers, usually pretty dependable, but after 20 years have seen a lot of things happen, not just on Polaris,Ktm,andHusky the brands we sell, but also the BIG 4 Jap machines, Anything that man makes can break! I've found that out fellas. If its just a crank seal why so long on repair? Or is it someting else?

Thanks for your reply. It was nothing else. It took that long (so they said) to get the part. So far everything is fine now. That is since the rear end housing cracked open.
