Default New 400 Ranger leaking a small amount of gas from carb

I have a 400 Ranger with 7 hours on it and noticed that the small 1/4 clear plastic hose from beneath the carb bowl is leaking a small amount of gas occasionally onto the bottom of the frame on the skid plate where it ends at. Its not alot and I just noticed it because the gas had darkened the dust on the skid plate. I checked the drain screw on the bottom of the bowl and it was a little loose so I tightened it thinking that it may have been open a little allowing gas to flow into the discharge line. I have not had a chance to give it a good run to see if any gas will drip or not but I am assuming that this drain screw should be tightened all the way and was wondering if anyone else had a problem with these carbs doing this.

I noticed when I fill up my quad that there is a vent tube but that doesn't sound like what you're describing. You might look up a parts diagram on one of the online sites that sells Polaris parts just to see if it is just a carb. drain or not. Try Babbitts Online. Tks for the link to the diagrams, I found it in the diagrams, it says it is just a "screw" and its located on the bottom of the bowl they are just not showing the clear plastic tubing coming off of the bottom of the bowl. I know when I was purchasing it the salesman told me its the same engine, a 455cc, that is used in the four-wheelers, in the diagram picture it also says 2005 Polaris industries so there should be a bunch of these carbs on four wheelers

Talked to the mechanic, not uncommon on the 400s or even some of the four-wheelers especially new, the vibration of the engine at idle will cause gas to go in to the overflow pipe in the carb bowl and drip a bit into the drain hose, he said as long as gas is not "flowing" out its fine. So now we now this hose acts as an overflow and a drain, and he also said don't overtighten the drain screw it is stripped easily. He said most people don't notice it because they don't look that hard at their machines.
