Default Polaris rzr fit in shortbed chevrolet silverado

I have heard mixed answers, im buying a 2013 rzr 800 from a dealer in tennessee and i live in georgia, my current trailer is too small is there a chance it will fit in my 06 silverado extended cab 6.5 ft bed, i know theres not a chance the tailgate will close but has anyone done it?

It will fit but be on the tailgate. Get your hands on a couple of 2x12's that will run the length of the box and tailgate. Position them so the front/rear tires will sit on them when loaded and that will take some of the stress off the tailgate straps. Another option is to get a couple pieces of flat steel the same length as the tailgate straps, drill holes in each end, and use them in place of the straps (might be enough room to put them on inside of the straps which will help keep them in place or you'll have to pin them. I've heard of folks who have hauled them in the bed with the stock straps without issue but wouldn't take the chance IMO.

Best option is ponying up for a bigger trailer since you'll need one to haul it anyway

I agree on the trailer! I'd hate to try to put a Razr in the my sport side bed Chevy. Fighting it over the wheel wells would be hard enough..

This post was started two months ago, so this may not matter any more. But, we haul our Rzr 800 LE in the back of both my short bed crew cab Ram 2500 and my father's short bed crew cab Ford F250. We don't use 2x12s or flat steel and neither of us have had a single problem. I have 700 miles on the Rzr now, and it has been hauled this way every trip.

I kinda cringe at the thought of hauling something like that in the bed of a 1/2 ton truck. That's a lot of weight way up high to really affect the handling of your truck as well. On a heavier duty truck the weight probably wouldn't be an issue. It will work but is not really recommended. Trailer is much safer.

My RZR S will fit in the bed of my F250 8' bed. Don't know about your issue
