TINY TACH

I just installed a tiny tach and it is reading to many R's like 8200 at half throtle any advise???????

Need more info - what did you install it on, 4-stroke, 2-stroke, etc

installed on my 400 scrammy and at half throtle it reads 8 grand

You might want to check to see if the tach has an adjustment for PPR ( pulses per revolution). I know the Predator is 6, but don't remember what the Sport/Scramblers are. Maybe someone with that will chime in.

I think it is 4 for the Scrammy. It is with my tach anyway. I think there are different Tiny Tachs, some of them work with Polaris, some don't.

Arn't some also based for 2-stroke and some for 4-stroke?

Just for grins, try moving the pic up wire down more towards the plug. I had the same problem with my 700. When I moved the wire farther away from the coil it read fine.
