Default Beat up my predator

I just have a little story about my nightmare ride tonight. To start off I went over a buddys house about 5:30 pm est to go for a little 5 man ride, some woods and some power lines. Everything was going fine and the predator was performing very well on the trails(very rough lots of rocks, brush and swampy.)considering I was riding with 3 4x4s and a little blaster i was impressed..I know this is long so bear with me. While we were riding the lead quad decided to try a new trail. So we follow him for about 15 min. and he stops. So we had a little break. It started to get dark while resting. So one of us said lets head back. The lead guy says he doesnt know where we are .So what he was saying was we were lost,. There were no trails and was the wearst terain I have ever dealt with. While we were lost my predator desided to die. No power from the battery.Would not turn over(dead) A few guys went out to scout a way out of there. They would come back about 15 min with no good news. Like I said it was to dark to see and the terain was horrible. The big quad hooked on to me and we tried to role it down the hills to jump start it..That failed.

Neadless to say my quad was towed around in that nasty terain for 3 hours while we were lost. We finaly found a trail and made our way home..

I loaded it on my trailer and came home.Other than our bad trip the quad was very nice. I am afraid to see that pretty black tld plastic all mangled. Also I know I did some damage to the rims.Tommorrow I will see the damages. Also my front susp. is very squeeky. If you read to this point, Thanks

Can someone let me know what the problem could be with the electical?

I would double check your battery connections. I periodically spray ground terminals with CRC 2-26 electrical spray....leaves a light oil for protection from the elements. You can also connect a volt meter across the battery, that's once you get it started and monitor the charging. The Predator has I believe a 250 watt stator, so charging capabilties shouldn't be a problem....normally ends up being battery and it's connections.

Well Ken you were right again. I found the bat. term loose. When I stalled it that was the end of my ride. ( the battery must not have been charging due to this) I got a good look at my damages today. Not too bad but have to point out a few things. My nerf webbing wore out and broke in three places due to it rapping around the edges.. Bummer too many tree bumping. Second one nerf has a crack in it. I do have to say that the factory swing arm skid is tough. I bottomed out on some nasty rocks hard many times and it has no damage.

I do have a major complaint though. Due to my sitiation(sp) I was very upset I did not have any other means to start the thing when the battery was dead. If only it had a kick start or a pull start.

That's why we carry a cheap (6$) set of light duty wal-mart jumper cables when we go riding. It never hurts to be prepared but that will help you to be prepared next go around. At least you didnt have to spend the night there and found your way home.
