i am seriously thinking of sending my 00 scrambler 500 to mickey dunlap and have it big bored and stroked to a 600, also having him do my head work(cam, valves, port/flow work) i have the money just curious about reliability.. do you think it would a pain?? or would it be fast?? i sold my banshee and now have this.. and i'm missing the speed a little bit. has anyone ever seen a scrambler with this kit?

You might as well go with the 628 kit reliability is not a problem I have read several articles on the 600 and 628 bigbore kits and there is nothing to be concerened about they are just as reliable as stock maybe even more so cause of better parts. This kit along with a good pipe and clutch kit will certianly wake the Scrammy up. If I had the money I would get the kit tomarrow no questions asked.
Good luck and keep us informed if you get it I would like to hear what you think about it first hand

I talked to mickey and he said that it last longer if you run it on a mixture of priemium and race gas. Also, you might want to look into upgrading you cooling system with a supercooler or engine ice because it will probably run hotter. Just some things to keep in mind. Mickey said that he has had no reliability issues with the 628 kit.

Many have been interested in this kit over the years including myself but I don't know of anyone whose posted that they did it. Mickey is a busy guy especially with the racing season just starting I would guess a couple of months to do it.
It would be an awsome trail machine.
