Predator ate my brand new MXR's

I rode for about 8 hours today on a hard packed MX track and totally wore out a set of brand new Holeshot MXR's. I'm talk'n totally bald! Of course 3rd and 4th gear powerslides around banked corners didn't help them, but man it sure was fun!

Ruckus,
My pred has been eating up Razrs (2nd set already worn), so I decided to do something different. I remembered the fun I used to have with my Banshee's tire set-up, so I mounted a set of 20x12x10 Blackwaters on douglas.190 rims, and man what a difference. All of the slide and wheelspin with Razr's (that eats up the tires quickly), well it is cut in half. The Pred hooks up and goes! I ride quite aggressive trails, but I would highly recommend the set-up to anyone who is not racing. The tire has a fairly flat profile, so it does not affect the rear stablity much. It gains about 1 or 2 pounds per wheel in tire weight, so if you can get over that thought it is great. The pred has enough power to spin 'em when you want to. As far as hillclimbing - awesome. Straight line acceleration - awesome. Powerslides - very good . One of the places I ride at has a series of switchbacks that go up hills, down hills, and up hills again. There are a bunch of small jumps on each straight section of the hills. With the old razr's it would just spin and the lift off the jumps a few feet beacuse of the limited space for acceleration - it was just ok. Now, with the added traction, it lifts off these jumps and doubles the length and height. Just this was enough to impress me that I have made a good choice with the new tire setup.
The biggest thing to get used to is that the tire set-up is not as forgiving when you are too low geared - it hooks up, so gear selection to maintain midrange and topend power is critical. Overall, I would say this is one of the best mods you can do after you get an aftermarket pipe. There's another guy in these forums with the same setup, and he's a happy camper too. I strongly suggest other pred owners who are looking for more traction purchase the Blackwaters. You won't be disappointed.

G'day Ruckus.
Mate how fit are you ?
8 hours, thats impressive.
You'll be looking for a new bike before anyone else.
Polaris will no doubt put it on back order.

I have to admit I took a few breaks during the day, the track I was at was in an off road park. We got there about 9 am and rode till dark. I went through 3 1/2 tanks of gas. I've been riding for about 12 1/2 years and its all I do. Any spare time I have I'm ride'n. Quads and Dirtbikes are my life! One thing my buddy couldn't believe yesterday was I didn't even unload my bike, I was have'n way to much fun on my predator.

Was the hook up really good? Just wondering if you will buy MXR's again or go with a longer lasting 18" tire. Also how are the Walker Evans shocks. Almost bought them and just got ressies instead. Thanks in advance for any setup info.

The MXR's hook up great!!! They slide even better. They are the best MX tire out there. I just order'd two more sets for the rear and a set of 19" fronts on ITP T-9 rims.
The WE Shocks are awesome!!!! Well worth the money. I'm was hit'n a tabletop that is about 15' high 4th gear tap'd out and they soak up the landing perfect!! It was shoot'n me up about 14-15 foot in the air and around 70-75 foot out!!!
If anybody was at Haspin Acres in Indiana on Sunday that was me on the #60 Predator.
