Default predator bad on gas?

Is it just me or is the predator really bad on gas? My friend has one and it seems like when were riding all day he runs out of gas and I still have like 1/2 a tank left in my raptor.

I got a chance to do some long rides this weekend alongside a sportsman who kept track of the milage. Running a gear tall and taking it easy, average was 30 mpg, and running soft sand and steep hills in higher RPMs brought a 25 mpg average...so I think it does really well!

I agree with Pudljumpr. I think it's pretty good on fuel consumption. Last time I calculated it, it was about 29 MPG - and that was running it pretty hard in 3rd & 4th mostly over a 4k ft elevation change. Though the Predator fuel capacity is about 1/2 gallon more than my Z400, I consumed only a minor amount more on the same trail.

I've been shocked how LITTLE gas the Pred consumes.....whether all out duning, or all day trail riding.........compared to my Banshee, or my old 400cc stroker warrior...........it seems to be a very thrifty sipper for a 500cc......

I find with mine it is a hog when I'm doing alot of WOT riding. Under more normal conditions it's not that bad. But do alot a flat out 5th gear rippin and you'll see it go bye bye real fast.

I dont know what i did. But when i first got mine it seemed like it was getting about 6 Miles to a gallon (well not really but it was low) then after it was broken in alittle more The gas mileage seemed to increase by alarge amount. Maybe im just trippin but i think it has something to do with how well broken in it is. But that doesnt make any since so oh well.. I just took mine about 30miles in sand and my dad tached it with his sp500 and I had about alittle more then half i tank i think. But i probally went alot further then him because i had the rear wheels burning out half the time

Mine gets great mileage. I've never caluclated that but at the end of some 3-4 hour rides I'll check and find half a tank or more in there. This is way better than my utilities ever got!

I do think they get better as they wear in, though, then get worse again as the rings wear out.

Maybe while you're ridding in a straight line, he's having soooo much fun with the Predators great steering and handling, that he's roosting back and forth. Actually ridding twice your distance? J/K
