oil pump not working???
I just bought a Trailblazer 400, and after 4 tanks of gas it doesnt seem to be injecting any oil. I have been pre-mixing each tank. The owners manual says something about bleeding the pump if it isnt working, but it gives no details as to how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

This is where people think the oil injection is not working. On the 400 and 250 it will use very little oil to gas. It will approxamatley use 1 tank of oil to about every 20 tanks of gas. NO LIE!!! That is how little it will use. You usually can go for a whole summer on 1-2 tanks of oil and thats riding every weekend. You cant even tell if the oil goes down untill around your 10th tank. Everyone will agree that this is totally normal. If the oil injector did not work it will lock up pretty quick. Dont pre mix anymore. Besides your still under warranty if that rare occation did happen. The injection is very reliable and has been with polaris for years and years.

The oil injection saves countless dollars and time. I wouldn't ever block it off and do pre-mix (I guess some people have their reasons). Add gas and go, no messing around with mixing. It uses such a small amount that you can actually afford the real Polaris stuff.

PolarisPower500 is right, it is a real convience, but when you start to do alot of mods to the motor, it is a very good idea to go pre-mix. You have to look at it like this, you are increasing the amount of fuel going to the carb, sometimes double than factory with significant motor mods, thereby, you also need to increase the amount of oil going to the carb for the motor to last. You cannot increase, not predictably, the amount of oil going to the carb via the oil pump, so that's why people block it off, also if they are trying to save weight, (but that doesn't make as much sense as the other reason I mentioned)

The other reason to premix - I use my 400 for plowing in the winter so I premix about 50:1 in addition to my oil injection system. I had a friend sieze his 300 up by not either rejetting for cold weather or premixing. It seems the piston expands too fast and without the extra oil it will chew up the walls.
In the summer though I'll bet I don't even go thru a quart of injection oil, it was a lilttle disconcerting to me too when I first got the machine, you get used to it. The EPA is all over 2 stroke manufacturer's to clean up their engine's so the've leaned em out as much as they can.
