I a little confused as to which Polaris models are the Generation IV . I have a 1998 Sportsman 500 , is this a Gen. IV model ? I see many parts for sale that fit the Gen. IV models and was wondering if these will fit on my ATV.

Interesting that there is no Generation V.

 

My guess is there will be a gen V chassis , and it will be with the other new model '04 releases we'll msee in a couple months.

 

somthing is wrong because a 03' sportsman 500 takes a gen IV+ (4+) rear double tube bumper because of the square tubing it bolts too as opposed to the round tubing.
