Don't waste your time if it has EBS. Also don't waste your money on a DynoJet kit. We've tried the EPI EBS clutch kit and it did virtually nothing except increase engagement rpm. The DynoJet along with the K&N and Supertrapp does a little bit, but I have to question if it's really worth it at all.

What works is the Supertrapp IDS2, K&N on a 40mm Scram 500HO carb and an Aaen roller clutch. This combo wakes it up pretty good and add 8 mph to the top end. Only problem is that the 40mm Mikuni is a little rich in the middle and other needles are not available for this OEM only carb. We found that out and are on the end clip. We are in the process of adding the Scram 500HO cam and the Wiseco 10.5:1 piston. From the reports we've seen this is the only answer. Also this corrects the rich mid range problem with the carb and we will be back in the mid clip. We are adjusting the clutching to keep the rpm's down to 7,000 as it seems to be better there then over-revving to 7,200-7,400 rpm. In fact, with our setup the top end is 4 mph better at 7,000 than at 7,400. We'll report back as soon as the other changes are finshed up and we can evaluate.

Note: the Grizz does not respond well to clutching changes and the DynoJet kit just does not do it either for the Grizz. It has a motor that has a little better and wider power curve, particularly on the top end than the SP500, but does not respond well to these changes.

Jack is right on.I had the EPI clutch kit on my 99 Sportsman with EBS,what a waste of $$.It cost me 239 dollars installed and I was very disappointed for the amount of money I spent. It did raise the engagement speed and it seemed like I got from point A-B a little quicker. But for that amount of $$ I expected more.===BILL

JAck i was told not to put the cam from the scrambler in the sp becuse the cranks are different can you check your manuals and see becuse if it is i will also do it. This info could save a big problem from occuring. But i cant see a manufacture makeing two different cranks for a 500 not cost effective this is the only draw back on the conversion so far and this is what is keeping me from doing it to my sp. I already have the carb so next is the cam. What about using a dynojet needle in replacment to stock ?
