Default Predator carb rumor I heard

Someone told me to cut a couple coils off the spring in my carb. Anyone know if that does anything? Thanks

Drill out the two holes on the slide, (one size larger than they are now). cut the spring, and install a 50 pilot jet. Then either modify airbox or run a clamp on filter. It will rev faster, cure's the jetting problem the predator has as the slide opens, and will prevent the slide from droping and causing your engine to cut out over big jumps.

Makes sense to me. I would think it would've slowed down the slide, but wondered why you would want to do that. Now I know. Thanks.

The Predator and the DS have the same carb. This topic is being discussed in the Bombardier forum.

I recently bought a HSR45 for my Baja and it made a huge gain in power...I'm betting that this carb would work good on a Predator.

Thanks mod. Predator was 2nd on my list to buy..only because 1st year out. The Pol is a wolf in sheep's clothing as it's always been and that's what draws me to them. Maybe next year another Pol will be sitting in the garage.

Actually Pud, that carb is a little big for a 500cc engine. But if money is no object, And you want to do it the so called right way, Lectron has a taperbore carb that is being tested that looks really promising. (works even better with methanol).

Predator03, Yes it really works, this mod has been used on Harley's for years. There's nothing new about the technology, just applying old tricks that have worked for years to the Predator.
