Default ATV's Might be limited to 399cc By Law (READ!)

You know, I posted this before, but for something like this it may be worth repeating.

I bet the same group of people that hate ATVs are the same people that hate guns, hug trees and are obviously the greenpeace, anti-pollution freaks, SUV-hatin' bunch that gets shuttled around in their LIMOs - getting FAR LESS gas mileage than ANY SUV on the planet. They preach clean air, and no SUVs- but what about their LIMOs? How does 5-8mpg or LESS sound? Yeah, they are a hypocryte to their own cause.
And they get out of their LIMOs with...WHAT - BODYGUARDS that carry..WHAT... GUNS!!! Oh yeah, they want protection for themselves...But they think law abiding citizens are a danger to society and shouldnt have guns.
Before every totalitarian (butthole) goverment in history, the peoples weapons and rights were slowly taken from them. Look at Stalin (U.S.S.R.), Hitler (Germany), Hussein (Iraq). They passed laws and stirpped the people of their guns and freedoms so no resistance would be met. I'm not saying we are on the verge of that, but we need to watch out that it's OUR freedom and OUR pursuit of happiness granted to US by the CONSTITUTION that is at stake here. Quads are part of that dream for US. Maybe not everybody, but its what we find happiness pursuing. Let us be, let us live.

It's been said before, but it's true - we should all ban together and not let them get quads like they got 3 wheelers. We need to BAN TOGETHER rather than GET BANNED. Get in a club, join the ATVA, ASA and anything else you can. With 700,000 NEW ATVs sold last year, we are a voice FAR greater than motorcyclists (more killed per year than ATVs) and dirtbikes. Let's rise up and be heard and not sit back and wonder why. We take a stand now!

Now stay with me here. The CPSC (the people that got 3wheelers banned) wants to holler ATVs are dangerous..blah blah blah. Well, I halfway agree with them. Like anything, ATVs need to be repected. They are fun, but they are not a toy to babysit kids with, especially if they are inexperienced. This is where a lot of parents have gone astray and fell victim to bloodthirsty lawers wanting to displace their guilt...thats another story....
BUT, there should be more training on ATVs- but DONT ban them or restrict engine size because some people were idiots and got hurt. A car could hurt you. I bet its safe to say that cars kill more people and hurt more people than ATVs. So let's ban cars!!! THey hurt people. They must be banned! I cut myself on paper.. Lets ban paper!!! I got ink in my mouth the other day... Lets BAN INK and INK pens!!! Screw them - we dont need pens!!!!!!
I know these are ridiculous examples but these are ridiculous, over frantic, "want to make a name for themselves to feel important," people that will target anything they dont like - for whatever reason they pull out the air. They dont care about the people, they just want something to hate. It's not fair. It's not just. They claim to want "equal rights" and justice for all, but they want to shove crap down our throats to strip us of our freedom. We must ban together.

Now i'm for reducing pollution (not by taking cars or SUVs away) and restricting guns to CRIMINALS ( i know that's another debate), but not to good citizens. And I am for helping the environment. But the thing in GLAMIS- when they shut down 49,000 acres because of something they speculated and made up was totally absurd. They had no proof and the ATV community proved them wrong and got the land back! GREAT. We need more of that.
As for as ATV injuries go- which is already mentioned here but I'll say it again - I think ATV training should be a MUST for inexperienced riders. See, I (and others I'm sure) had the priveledge of growing up around motorcycles, 3wheelers, dirtbikes and quads- so i had family to teach me how to ride. But others may not have had that. The parents and dealers should take a little bit more responsibilty in ATV training. That would cut down on alot of stupid crap and make people better, more enjoyable riders, and then it would give LESS fuel to the ATV hate fire. Just my $.02. Thanks for listening.

You are correct, it is the same bunch of people anti-gun etc. (don't forget PETA ) that seem to be against everything I stand for. Somehow they seem to get more publicity than the rest of us, maybe it is because WE ARE TOO BUSY GOING TO WORK EVERYDAY TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING. Just my 2 cents.

Dude, I can agree with that. Aage limits are a very vague way of setting standards. But there is a fine line between the 2. They do this for not only physical size, but for "maturity," as well. Now, this too is not directly related to age. I know some people that are "old enough to know better" on many things...but still do stupid crap that even someone younger would not do. Not just in riding, but other stuff.

Age just gives regulation for safety somewhere to start. Something to go on. What is more of a factor is inexperience, not age. Thats why there needs to be training and even a form of certification and licensing. I know the last word there may be a bad word in this atvworld but treat it like a driver's license- If you do something stupid and hurt someone else, your license gets suspended and you cant ride on public land! That's harsh, but its better than banning the whole industry.

hehehe. No you probably wouldnt have fun on a 90 for too long, much less fit on one. I too was "underage," when i got my first bike. But, remember the age thing is what someone would look at if you were to get hurt on your 400, so be careful and be a good example to prove them wrong!
