HPD Gear Starting to Role Out!
#1
This is just the tip of the mountain, but on the shelf now are valve springs capable of 10,000rpm ( including proper shims)-$64.95
Front bumpers w/o lazer cut HPD logo - $69.95
Front bumpers w/ HPD logo should be ready by next week- $84.95
Rear double grab bar with flag mount $59.95
Their severe duty steering linkage kit...replaces basically everything with heavy duty/greasable gear for $229. The stock/non-greasable gear goes for almost $200.
The full pipes might be ready by the end of next week. This pipe is flowbench designed, and hits the rev limiter sooooo fast, you better be doing some clutch hand exercises to keep up.
They have the 530, and stock 12.5 pistons. The total engine mod kit is still waiting final testing.
The sky is getting darker as the weeks go by.... the doors are getting ready to open. You might as well call this thing Taz, cause the look and sound are gonna send fear into what some thought was the competition. Here comes DA BOOM!!!
I'm not at liberty to post anything more, but it will be written as soon as it's available.

Stock is rev-limited to 9,005. I would bet the 10,000 is on the safe side. Knowing HPD they'll properly target where the HP is being made, then design and market gear to operate reliably in that area. Reliably is the key word here.

No dyno #'s yet, all flowbench time. Having personally ripped on the pipe, I'll tell you with a totally stock machine, with the exception of the pipe, the revs were sooo fast you had to really concentrate on keeping up with the shifting. Darrell is one of the members of the snowmobile land speed record, so I don't think you'll find him, or his products shying away from any challenges. He basically tripled the 400 HP, and they start first pull all year long, the 500 is just gonna be an extension of that performance and reliability.

Modquad, after trying out the HPD pipe and also using the WB pipe, which is your favorite? Was there a noticable difference? My wife will only let me buy one, so I need to get it right the first try!!

The HPD unit was hands down better. When you match this with all the mods that are on the way...this will probably be dangerously quick (that's in a good way) For now, the first pipe coming out is gonna be the full tilt race version. It's not quiet, but it screams. Now as far as being able to quiet this one down, I'm not sure what will be available. If needed, I'm sure Darrell will be able to come up with something that would work. Heck, looking at their simple quieting kit they sell for the two stroke pipes. I knocked over 9 db off the front of my pipe, and a few more off the silencer. For all around riding, I would probably choose the WB/Pure Polaris til the trail version comes out. For nuts flying power, and lightening quick revs, get your name on the list. Rath is even itching to get his hands on one. I almost feel like the Newhart show, this is Darrell, and my other brother Daryl.
