Scrambler or Sportsman
#1
i have looked at both machines and i really like both. I will be using it for lots of trail riding and showing up my friends grizzlys in the deep mud. It will probaly face som utility work . I am leaning towards the Sportsman. Please tell me what you think

Victor69er,
It all comes down to use. For the use you descibe, I would definitely go for the Sportsman. I feel that for utility use, mudding and trail riding it would be the better choice. The Scrambler is a great machine but there is no low range. For utility use this is a must. I spent the weekend towing trailer loads of rocks, towing a landscape rake, and towing a harrow - low gear definitely required. The high ground clearance for mudding and the great ride of the Sportsman would sway me. The ride of the Sportsman is like no other.

Definately the Sportsman for what you need. I kind of have a similar situation. I own an Xplorer400 and a Scrambler400. My Scram will follow the Xplorer anywhere and through anything but in mud the big Utility quads are kings. The smaller wheels ride rougher and mudding is a bit less enjoyable. Plus when riding through mud on a Scrambler you become "one with the mud"!
The Sportsman is hard to beat! Add a clutch kit and you will get some of the spunk the Scram has!

The Sportsman is definitely a plusher ride, and the ability to go about anywhere. I liked the Scrambler too, but after I sat on it, meaning its narrow seat, found the SP much more butt friendly. Had mine 6 months, and 2100 miles later, problems I had were covered on warranty, but I finally fessed up and admitted I ride mine a little on the rough side. For all around use, the Sportsman sold me.
