I was wondering looking at my 00 500 scrambler's pipe that if I cut off the exhaust outlet and plugged it then took a 2inch hole saw (for a drill) and cut the back of the chamber with it this in therory would give a little less back pressure and a better flow to my exhaust and in turn would give better response to my engine TRUE ?
plus would have the exhaust coming straight out instead of down.
would this not be like a header sort of ?
just curious I think it would look pretty mean
has anyone tried this I know some of you wrench heads must of I cannot be the only one to think of this
Please Respond

I haven't tried that, but IMHO the limiting factor is the head pipe. A larger diameter would make it flow better. Drilling the muffler would only create more noise.

I saw one guy who did this, but he just drilled a bunch of holes in the back. It was definatly louder, and sounded very "poppy", but it sure didn't seem any faster on the trails.
