Default SP500HO - Whine ??

I have a SP500HO with very few miles/hrs (only 2nd tank of gas). Today after riding it harder than usual - I now hear a slight "whine" coming from (what seems like) the rear of machine. The sound of the "whine" doesn't change with speed or whether in HI or LO - anybody know anything about this ?? Is this normal?? A few friends say it's OK, but being a first time Polaris owner - I'd like to get you guys "expert opinions".

Try some trouble shooting, IE: does it do it in neutral, does it change "pitch" with rpm, try rolling down a hill in neutral (engine off) see if it is the chassis or wheels are making the noise. Good luck & hope its not a major prob.

Yea - sure I didn't bend the exhaust pipe. I looked the machine over good - nothing visibly bent, broken, or otherwise unusual. Dealer says it might be a clutch - I'll take it over there soon to have him check it out.

Not to worry, mine does the same thing when in low range and you let off the gas. It's normal. That's the EBS system that you are hearing.

Mine does it in low range with throttle pressed - steady slight whine ... Dealer will check it out soon.

Yea - exactly. That's the sound - like a car backing up. Probably normal - but I'll take it in just to be sure - since the warranty is still in effect...

I have had the same whine in mine..been there since I bought it little over a year...it's a 2002..someone said it could be the back brake..but i don't think...it no worse now then it ever was..so I don't think it's anything to worry about
